Hello,
On rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), in the south of France, February 23, 2020.
An Asilidae perhaps?
But who was tasting the nectar of rosemary!
Thank you for your help

no Asilidae, rather a member of family Empidae.
Greetings - Matzke-Hajek

I don't know what happened, but the last two messages are gone! The one where Matzke-Hajek was correcting for Empididae and this one:
Thank you very much Matzke-Hajek,
Is it possible to move it to the adult flies?
Because because of my mistake, it is not in the right forum!

In the meantime, I see that the move has been made and I thank you very much.
I don't know if we can go much further? Maybe the genus?

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
