Hello!

I needed a long time searching this little (2,5-3 mm) animal among the Empididae and Hybotidae in the gallery - the one that mostly resembled it, was the last one of all... Wink: Trichinomyia. Is that correct? Visited the light tonight in our garden (Ostwestfalen/Germany).

Trichinomyia flavipes (female) is correct.

Thanks! I as a layman can't decide, who's wrong or right Wink, but as I wrote, Trichinomyia seemed to resemble my fly the most...

Hi Juergen,
The shape of the wing basal cells clearly indicates that your image is Hybotidae not Empididae (Rhamphomyia).
