Hello, Why are the prettiest flies always so small and therefore so difficult to shoot? I took several pics of that little one, none was really satisfying. However, the fly has such a striking appearance, especially as to the wing colouration and the green eyes, that there should be some hope for ID. I met the little guy beside our house on 25 July. Once you have a name you find many pics and information in the internet. I had checked the gallery before and found the wing pattern very alike but missed the green eyes! Thanks, dear Tony, I am convinced I have the right name now. Sundew |
