Berlin - July 2019 Hello World, i found this at my balcony attracted to light. I see very long arista which makes me think about Sphaeroceridae. is it Sphaeroceridae? anyone able to suggest a genus? Thank you very much. johnes81 attached the following image: [42.77Kb] Edited by johnes81 on 28-09-2019 18:08 John and Nini. Naturalists not experts. |

hmm. I've done some research and i am pleasantly surprised to find alot of images for this group. boldsystems has many of them and a few others are floating around the net identified by Paul Beuk. I deduce that this species must be Copromyza but none of the Copromyza for Germany have orange femora. The hind femur is only apically darkened. a bit more research and i found a match but it is not listed for Germany. Could this be Copromyza pseudostercoraria? Paul, i hope that you are reading this post. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/301740637_New_records_of_Psilidae_Piophilidae_Lauxaniidae_Cremifaniidae_and_Sphaeroceridae_Diptera_from_the_Czech_Republic_and_Slovakia Edited by johnes81 on 28-09-2019 18:07 John and Nini.
