Hi,

I thought that white stripes on tergite was unique to Leucozona in Europe but I found out that Epistrophe leiophthalma could have it as well!

therefore, I'm hesitating between the Epistrophe leiophthalma and E leiophthalma for this male.

Here a three pictures.

I'm pretty convinced that is E. leiophthalma because the eyes are bald whereas they are heary in L. glaucia.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
