Hi,

I think this is a Muscid fly, I found more than one which looked similar. Does anyone know what it is?

Location: Lincoln UK
Date: 4th October 2007
Habitat: On Camellia leaf, garden, sandy soil.

Thanks! Smile

Thanks Nikita, I had thought Phaonia valida was very close, but there appears to be dark blotches on the abdomen as well as some orange colouring at the base of the antennae which mine doesn't have. Other than that they look much the same. Mine also shows white feet.

Is it possible to get to species level with this pic?
