Hi, another fly collected. when collecting i was thinking to Opomizidae but now i don't know what to say.... but i hope to receive an answer here in 28.september.2007 collecting when sweeping with net thru vegetation. size little more than 2mm. photo taken thru microscope. cosmln [EDIT]: title changed cosmln attached the following image: [78.2Kb] Edited by cosmln on 05-10-2007 21:34 |

Could be - Hydrellia griseola is a very common fly of grassland - the larva is a leaf miner in a wide variety of plants.

Hydrellia griseola is by far the most common species - but there are many other, similar species. It is still a rather poorly known genus. Really reliable identification is possible only from male genitalia.
