I found this specimen during my sweeps across campus (INPA, Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil). Using the MCAD key ran for the genus Icosta. In Brazil, eight species are recorded, but none to the North. |

More than excellent pictures. I need to work on this, I am not familiar with the new world fauna. But first impression is indeed Icosta or Olfersia. Could you please estimate its size ? Theo |

Icosta is a very very difficult genus indeed. From what I can see, it fits in the Icosta americana subgroup. You might check the reviews by T.C. Maa, freely available from the internet (Hawaii). If you want to send over the specimen, please give me a P.M. Theo |
