Hello,

I observed this Syrphidae the 11th of August in Gravelines in the north of France. I think of a Eupeodes but the yellow spots on the abdomen seems to me different from a Eupeodes corollae, maybe it's a Eupeodes bucculatus , what do you think ?

Cordially Maxime

If the hind femora are yellow and it is a female (it seems so), then it is ribesii.
Best regards,
Jürgen

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
