Hi,
I Spotted this hoverfly visiting Photinia serrulata blossoms on April 14 2017 (in eastern China).
Browsed through the forum gallery but failed to find a perfect match. Anyway I think this is a male Eristalinus sp., somewhat similar to E. sepulchralis.
Any clue?

Thanks in advance
Regards

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
