Hi Tristan,

Chrysotoxum for sure. I'm fairly positive it's C. festivum though. Considering that the yellow stripes on the abdomen don't reach the side (almost), and the completely yellow tarses.

C. arcautum has a broader abdomen and the stripes don't match. But I'm saying this as an enthousiastic amature; I'm no expert!Wink

Hi Tristan,
It's certainly not arcuatum, which has more yellow and is a dumpier looking fly. It's most likely to be C festivum, which is generally one of the commoner Chrysotoxum's in the UK.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
