I found this small tabanid (aprox. 8 mm.) in a dry forest trail (basicaly oak, pine & ecucaliptus). Photo taken today in Valladares-Vigo (Pontevedra) Spain a 300 mts. Thnks once again for the help. Rafael Rafael Estevez attached the following image: [136.73Kb] |

Right, and one with black antennae and strongly coloured wings. Since crassicornis is very rare indeed on the Iberian peninsula, H. ocelligera comes as first in mind. Some similar species exist, though Theo |
