Myopites? (in Seguy, Faune de France, 28, Pl. VI). Fauna Europaea quotes only M. inulaedyssentericae and M. lelea for Spanish mainland, I don't know what they look like...
P.S. I've found similar images by eguzki in http://www.dipter...post_34648

Try Trypeta zoe. I have one which looks like this, but my pic is much smaller! I found this while on one of my many searches some time ago and have given mine that name unofficially.

It's indeed a Myopites, but neither M. inulaedyssentericae, nor lelae.
Unfortunately this genus is a taxonomical disaster (to say the least).
For what it's worth, the wingvenation as well as the wingpattern indicate M. eximia. But only the examination of the types can reveal which name fits to which species...

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
