It is a dark, greyishblack robberfly related to Asilus barbarus but a bit smaller. It has darkened (brownish) wings and is endemic to the Iberian peninsula it might be present now.

LOL Valter has posted today the Templasilus bolivari!!!!! Pfft Asilus barbarus is very common in south of Portugal. I have seen dozens of them, It was a feast for the eyes! They are pretty amazing!
