Dolichopus wahlbergi. Some differences: feathering in mid basitarsus longer, hind tibia and base of hind tarsus yellow. With some experience these species are easy to tell apart in the field (well, at least the males): D. wahlbergi is a 'super-plumipes', bigger, more contrasty and better developed feathering. The flight time is also worth noting: D. wahlbergi is a late-summer species. Kahis |
