Macronychia, I bet somewhere in the striginervis-complex, but we would need to see the genitalia to be sure...

Daaamn!.. I was blind and too self-confident. Fullmoon in action Smile
How embarassing awkward

Thanks! And yes, it'll be necessary to see genitalia.
I'm afraid it can not be Macronychia, cause at least arista is not bare

Good point !
So check the genitalia and check the back side of the hind coxa for small hairs.

Second bet is a male of Blaesoxipha, if so, will be obvious from genitalia.

Dear forummates, I'm back!

I've prepared pics of genitalia.

Looks like Blaesoxipha (Blaesoxipha) lapidosa Pape 1994?!

Need to add that the fly has emerged from an acridid taken from the Reserve.

Blaesoxipha lapidosa Pape (1994)!

Confirmed to me from these and some other photos by Thomas Pape himself via email correspondence.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
