Hi, last week succeded to make some photos on this Gymnosoma? , can be identified further? Baile Herculane (limestone, Fagus forest, ~400 m). size aprox ~6mm. thanks in advance, cosmln cosmln attached the following image: [106.91Kb] |

Definitely Gymnosoma but I can't go any further than that because they are a very difficult genus - even with a specimen. The genitalia and the degree of dusting on the frons and the thorax are all very significant features when making an identification |

AS Chris rightly put it, difficult to tell. It does not look like rotundatum, more likely either clavatum or dolycoridis. However, this is guesswork and not science. In any case, a male. Theo |

This is definitely NOT rotundatum, but either dolycoridis or maybe clavatum. It helped, but the conclusion remeans the same. Theo |
