Hi * locality - Pa?l de Arzila - Coimbra - PORTUGAL * date - 2007.06.28 * size - 3 mm (small fly) * habitat - paul, wetland, marshland * substrate - tall grass Very beautiful fly, and tiny... Tephritis sp.? Which one? Thanks John. Pointed abdomen (seems to be ovopositor) so this is female, isn?t it? |

Hi Jorge, Correct, i the first picture you can clearly see that the last part of the abdomen is a small black, shiny, more or less, triangle different in colour than the rest of the abdomen, this is the Oviscapus, the ovipositor is retracted inside the abdomen. John |
