May 28, 2016, Rasuwa district, Dhunche env., about 2000m a.s.l. Attracted to human faeces, not uncommon. Size about 10mm.

Prosthiochaeta? Although I don't have the article in which the genus was established (Enderlein, 1924, Mitt. zool. Mus. Berl 11: 97-153) it looks very much like numerous images from Korea and Taiwan in the Web and in other sources, e.g. Han, 2013 (Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity 29 (1): 56-69). Not yet recorded from Nepal I believe. |
