A small member of Syrphidae ? killed by an Entomophthora fungus ?
Do you agree and is there a name for the fly? Thanks in advance

Thanks G?nter! No species level possible? Perhaps with collected specimen? The location ist the hottest spot in the rhine area with a lot of "endemic" species. Best regards Frank

As far as I know the Paragus sp. could be identified, without having any doubts, by the male genitalia. Here in Romania Ms Stanescu Carmen is specialized on this group. She has some very good results on.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
