Hello Diptera fellows
I know the difficulty to identify Dicranota till the genus as it seems the need of genetic specification help to discriminate
the different possibilities existing between few genus
Nevertheless, I suppose that (as I will add pictures and video) that we could give the name Dicranota to this larva instar
alike one of the first
This organism is 10 mm length and is transparent despite the fact that it is fully covered by hairs we find in the last instar of Dicranota larvae
What do you think... your comments are most welcome

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
