I thought it would be easy to identify this distinctive Tephritidae, but browsing through the gallery this morning, I actually found it quite complicated with nothing exactly fitting. The nearest seems to be Aciura coryli. Would it be a possibility? About 4 mm long, photographed near Rome, Italy, about ten days ago in a wood of pine and holm oak with some elm, brambles and other herbaceous plants. Thanks, Sarah.
