Hello crex! Yes it is a male mosquito (fam. Culicidae, subfam. Culicinae). The genus should most likely be Ochlerotatus and even if it is difficult to identify a male mosquito whithout examining the male genitalia it is probably a Ochlerotatus communis or Ochlerotatus punctor (the most common snow pool mosquitoes we have in middle Sweden early in the spring. /thope007 Edited by thope007 on 14-06-2007 12:59 |
