Is there a long bristle on the anepisternum? That bristle is the source of the genus name. I see ordinary hairs below the long notopleural bristles. Photos of American Chaetopleurophora are here: http://bugguide.n...10/bgimage. |

No, there is no bristle on the anepisternum. I can see a tiny pit close to the posterior edge, which may have been the place where the bristle was situated. If we assume that the bristle has never been there, do you have any idea what it could be then? I hope it's not a Megaselia... |
