ID Help: Green-eyed Fly

Hiya again,

Shot this yesterday. It looks like a small hover fly, but the eyes are bright green and the body is a pale green. The wings rested out to the side like a hoverfly but they had a brown marble pattern? Have no idea on this. There is nothing like it in my reference books.

Hi,

It's an Tephritidae: Chaetorellia jaceae.
The genus can be identefied from this picture, the species can't be identified from this picture. But it's not C. loricata (not really sure if you have that in th UK) and then the only possibility left is C. jaceae, which is the only remaining species in the UK.
