Oribatida?

2011.I.14 - Póvoa Dão - Silgueiros - Viseu - PORTUGAL

Saw in rotten wood. Around 1 mm size.

Yes, one of the "higher families" of Oribatida. The nymphs (and sometimes the adults) will carry the younger larval and nymphal skins on their backs - these skins or "scalps" have their original bristles, so the mite looks very bristly indeed.
