This fly was feeding on sap from an oak tree. I think it belongs to the family Periscelidae. If so, there are only two species that have been found in Sweden as far as I can see: Periscelis annulata and, P. nigra. Is it possible to say which one of these species it it, or could it possibly be something else? Thanks in advance, Johan Johane attached the following image: [174.87Kb] |

For me the pictures are too poor to even say whether it is Periscelis or Myodris...

Yesterday I didn't have time to upload all my photos. These new pictures should make it easier to identify. Lateral view Johane attached the following image: [177.62Kb] |
