Hemyda vittata (or maybe obscuripennis) - a nice tachinid usually found in sunny clearings in old woodland. I am favouring vittata but maybe Theo can confirm which it is. |

No, vittata is quite right. The wings are not obscured.... (and the black and yellow pattern is different in obscuripennis) Theo |

Hi Chris and Theo, Thanks for the ID and short description. No images to be found of this one anywhere on the net (as far as I can tell) so impossible for me to find out what it is without your help  I guess I'll submit them to the gallery.
