I brought home a ladybug (in the south of Sweden) and out came a small larvae that turned into a little fly. After doing some research and reading some of the threads on this forum I have found out that Medina separata prefers ladybugs. Is it possible to id it from these photos?

Nice work, Monsum. It is the male of Medina separata indeed. You can very nicely see the tuft of hairs on the ventral side at the genitalia ! Theo |
