This one is photographed close to a Small stream at Blyde River Canyon. Mpumalange, South Africa. The height above sea level is 1000 meters or more, accoding to my memory. Date is 19th December 2006. I have come to the conclusion that it's an Alsimus sp. See this thread below, and page 259 in Flies by Marshall.: http://www.diptera.info/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=44460&pid=194395 If it's not a dragonfly, it might be a fly |
