I've noticed this behaviour on a few Rhingia that I''ve photographed recently and I'm at a loss to understand exactly what is going on? It seems like bubble blowing but not quite.

It is just the 'skin' that is streching when its mouthparts are extended into the flower.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
