Hi,
On 10th May I met at least two of these Tachinid males together with lots of other insects on Acer pseudoplatanus inflorescences in southern Brandenburg. When I saw the reddish scutellum, I was afraid to deal with a hardly identifiable Linnaemya and took a long series of pictures to catch also genitalia and sternites. However, chaetotaxy of Linnaemya does not fit. Meanwhile I think of Phorocera assimilis (in thread http://www.dipter...pid=196205 I read: fore tarsus as long as fore tibia, middle black longitudinal stripes on thorax narrower than the dividing space). So what do you say?
Thanks in advance, Sundew

I hope these two belong to the same species, because I cannot tell apart the pictures showing but one of them...

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
