I found this fly on the day before yesterday, near Kisszállás, about 50 km W. of Szeged, S. Hungary. (The exact place is an area of consolidated sand dunes with sparse vegetation, having many southern and steppe species.) The fly is about 5 mm. Some years ago I took a single, bad picture of it at a nearby place, I found it very interesting, but of course I was unable to get anywhere with that picture. I think it is a Holopogon sp., but I could not find a truly similar sp. on the Internet. It has very long, “fluffy” hairs, all white (may be off-white or greyish white) everywhere, except 3-4 dark ones behind each eye (possibly visible in the first pic). Wings are entirely hyaline, with yellowish veins. I would greatly appreciate any suggestion! Thanks in advance!
