Hy, I have to show you a larva that I suspect that it is a Syrphidae larva. The photos were taken in 24.10.2006, Romania, Retezat Mountains, almost 600m. My question: is it a syrphidae larva? Can you tell me what specie is? Thanks. amalia_raluca attached the following image: [155.94Kb] Edited by amalia_raluca on 07-05-2007 10:27 |

Hello, Syrphid larva without doubt, with both breathing tubes at the posterior end. In the Rotheray, Scaeva pyrastri could be a good candidate. Pierre Duhem |

This larva seems to be Epistrophe grossulariae - by G. Rotheray. At least the Epistrophe is for sure. Best wishes and many thanks to Graham, Amalia Edited by amalia_raluca on 07-05-2007 10:41 |
