Another species from June, the Netherlands. All tarsi seem to be simple, lower postocular cilia pale, squamal fringe black.

Ok, so I'm right with Dolichopus. I'll try to key it again, but it's hard for me as I hardly ever tried to identify Doli's before.

I think I know now why I didn't succeed to key this one, because I missed the apicoventral bristle on the front tibia. I'm now convinced it should be Dolichopus notatus. I'll place some extra pictures. First: all tarsi are simple.

I can see only 1 seta on the hind basitarsus. If this is the case then it is Dolichopus litorellus Zett. |

I checked, but it is not the case. You can see only 1 seta, but there are 2. The other one was broken.

Wing without costal stigma at R1, so it must be Dolichopus calinotus Loew, a species that occurs in the Netherlands. |

Igor, D. latilimbatus has a silvery-white face, but this species seems to have a brown face. If this is the case then it must be D. calinotus. |

The specimen has poor condition, probably from water trap or from humid net. We see the ground colour of face with residues of silvery pollination on clypeus.

The specimen is from 2003 from a malaise trap so is indeed in bad condition, I got similar specimens from the same malaise trap in 2008 and they got all silvery face, so this is very well spotted Igor!
