Dear All,

Can you help me identifying these Asilidae? The male kept hovering around the rear of the female, even though I accidentaly disturbed them a couple of times, causing the female to relocate. In the end the male gave up after which the female closed her wings.

Suriname, Para, Zanderij (Savanna), XI-2012

Thanks in advance,

Anyone able to confirm the species?

Hey Dipterists! Quick Question: Vein r2+3 bare beneath. I've always assumed that this is below as in when you look at the wing flat. Am I right? Thank youuuuu! Pfft
