Estimated bodylength around 2mm. Photographed in Franklin (Tasmania, Australia), 03/11/2012. Could this possibly be a Phytomyza sp.? The only known species here is the introduced P. plantaginis, which this is clearly not. Thanks, Tony DipTas attached the following image: [165.19Kb] |

In case someone was interested, I photographed a female. Also managed to catch one which keyed to Phytomyza - has a row of proclinate hairs on the orbits (just barely noticeable on the second female pic) plus the costa ending at R4+5. Doesn't match any known Australian species.
