All the Asteiidae I caught before were Asteia amoena, but finally I caught a Leiomyza. But I got a problem now, as in this key http://www.online-keys.net/infusions/keys/keys_view.php?key_no=6#c8 Leiomyza curvinervis is not included and I don't know how it looks like. The one I caught has totally yellow halters, but I don't know if this species also shares this character? Location: Goes, the Netherlands, caught today. nielsyese attached the following image: [52.33Kb] Edited by nielsyese on 10-10-2012 20:29 Best wishes, Niels-Jan Dek |

Hi Niels-Jan, Yes, the halters are also yellow in L. curvinervis. In L. scathophagina the frons should be distinctly shining whereas in L. curvinervis it should be much duller. Edited by Jan Willem on 06-10-2012 12:02 Jan Willem van Zuijlen |

The online key was updated to include the relevant characters.
