I would *guess* it's a tachinid - based on the apparently bare arista and very strong abdomenal bristles. But I'd definitely like to see a strong subscutellum on it before I'd say for sure  |

I agree with all that this looks like a Tachinid. However, if Nikita doesn't see a swollen postscutellum.... The proboscis is peculiarly enlarged. This is a feature of the Calliphorid-genus Bengalia from the old world tropics. So Nikita might try to look there ... Beware: long shot. Theo Zeegers |
