I caught this Pipunculidae today, flying between Phragmites australis. Can someone confirm Eudorylas and maybe tell something about the species? Thanks in advance http://waarneming...w/71172760

Tomosvaryella maybe minima. A dorsal of the ovipositor and a picture of the frons would be helpful.

The frons is for a big part silvery dusted, only just beneath the ocellar triangle it is shining black.

Still difficult to say but I'd label it T. minima.

Thanks! With Foldvari et al. (2002) I also arrive at Tomosvaryella minima.
Best wishes, Niels-Jan Dek

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol
