a pest on rice

one species of pest was found on the rice in Xingxian County, Hubei Province, China. At least two individual together with each other. This is not the INSECT, with incrustation, without mucus, and the antenna could not shrink into the incrustation. Could you help me! Thank you.

They almost look lile ephydrid puparia, but there is little visible detail that is useful.

There appears to be a horn-like structure at the front end. Bolboceratidae have cephalic horns. But they really look like snails. Edited by Graeme Cocks on 01-06-2012 06:23 |

An opinion from a friend is that they could be Phoridae pupae. |
