Hi, I found this hoverfly in a quarry (near Stuttgart, Germany) on May 23rd, 2012. She was about seven millimetres in size. Could this be Microdon myrmicae? I was just reading that Microdon mutabilis cannot be distinguished by Microdon myrmicae at the photo apparently. Is this correct?
