The main key to UK tachinids (Belshaw, 1993) has recently gone out of print so the RES have asked Matt Smith & I to update its content before it is reprinted (ie. this will be a revision of the whole text, not just a suppliment).

With this in mind we're putting out a general request for suggestions and lists of what people might like to see in the next edition. Obviously, we can't promise to do everything because we're doing this on a voluntary basis and there are time constraints Wink But we're keen to hear from anyone who has used it and has opinions about what is good/bad with the current version. Smile

We have our own list of things we'd like to do already - such as: add in the 18 new UK species; update the species accounts and host lists; improve indexing and cross-referencing between keys, species accounts and checklist; list species accounts in alphabetic, not taxonomic order etc etc.

Please feel free to throw suggestions at me in this thread or via PM. Grin

Thanks
Chris R.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
