Good evening, In de Meinweg I collected some Epistrophe nitidicollis. I think there is not much special on that. Yet, one male has only two hairs on the scutellum black. The rest is yellow. I think there is variability in the coloration of the hairs on the scutellum, but how far does this go? ruud van der weele rvanderweele@gmail.com |

Scutellar hair colour works for most specimens, but it's better not to rely on this character only. I advise to use the key of Dockzkal & Schmid (1994) for more reliable characters. |
