Ceratopogonidae female. Ceratopogoninae, maybe Palpomyiini. Not sure about tribe. Is the fore fifth tarsomere normal or swollen? |

Tribe Heteromyiini typically has swollen first fifth tarsomere. Tribe Sphaeromini typically has prominent spines under fifth tarsomeres (clearly absent here). I don't know of an externally visible character for Palpomyiini. Stenoxenus females are easily distinguished by the unusual M vein (normal here) and I don't think you have any other Stenoxenini. |
