This genitalia was dissected from a Pollenia collected specimen (Spain: Girona: 25.viii.2012) in a liquid trap and it was in bad condition.
It looked as Pollenia angustigena (Rugnes 1991b ) spite hasn't an outer posthumeral setae. I looked the rudis species group keys (Rugnes 1987b ) and tried to match it with P.luteovillosa, a similar species without outer ph.
I have no experience dissecting brachycera genitalia and Pollenia species genitalia look very similar to me.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
