I've seen this fly quite a few times but have never been able to get an ID, it's quite a stunner with its shimmering blue bands on the abdomen

Would appreciate any help

Calliphora vicina female. I agree this is a very handsome fly. Look out too for its cousin C. vomitoria which has a ginger beard!

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
