After another quiet spell, I've accumulated a few flies I'd like to get your collective advice on, starting with this which I think may be a Dolicophus, photographed this morning in a pinewood, near Rome, Italy. About 4 mm long.  Thanks Sarah. Edited by lynkos on 27-09-2006 16:29 |

It is a Dolichopus as you say, but proceeding to species level may be impossible since many crucial characters are not visible. PS. Nice to see you around! Edited by Kahis on 27-09-2006 16:30 Kahis |
