Found on a tree trunk in winter (16 February 2006). Length, 2.0 mm. West Virginia USA.

With such long antennae and light-colored wings, I am thinking Cecidomyiidae, is this correct?

Thanks in advance for any ID help!

You should be thinking Sciaridae. Wink

Darn! I looked at Sciaridae but decided with the light-colored wings Cecidomyiidae was more likely.

FYI: Not every dark-winged fungus gnat has dark wings. Wink
