This Trachinid has an orange abdomen without any black spots. I saw it in my garden (Netherlands - Zeeland) in August. Any ideas?

Rare august species

Nice picture.

Could you be more specific on the locality, please ?

I'm living in Koudekerke (Walcheren). I saw the fly on the 8th of August 2006 in my garden.

Hi Andre

It turns out that there exist an isolated population on Walcheren.
With which your find is therefore consistent

Thanks

Theo
